- In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, mayonnaise, celery, onions, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
- Chill the chicken salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve the chicken salad on bread, crackers, or on a bed of lettuce as desired.
Notes
For any leftovers, store chicken salad in an airtight container in the fridge. It will stay fresh for up to 3 days. It can be frozen, but the texture might change slightly upon thawing. To reheat, gently warm it on the stove over low heat, stirring occasionally until warmed through.
